L’échec est un problème existentiel propre à tout homme, car vivre, c’est se projeter vers des buts que l’on peut ne pas atteindre. Vouloir éviter l’échec, c’est refuser la vie elle-même. La réussite, lorsqu’elle est limitée ou exclusive, devient illusoire : le monde est multiple, et s’enfermer dans un seul ordre de réalité conduit tôt ou tard à la défaite. L’échec, inscrit dans le temps, doit être compris comme une épreuve formatrice. Il permet de rectifier nos choix, de découvrir nos limites et de donner un sens plus profond à nos actions. Le véritable échec n’est pas de tomber, mais de ne pas se relever ; il réside dans l’obsession du succès et la peur de manquer sa vie. On peut échouer dans les plus grands succès et réussir dans les pires échecs, selon le sens que l’on donne à son existence. Accepter et surmonter l’échec, c’est apprendre à être, à se connaître et à s’accomplir au-delà du temps et des résultats.
