La capacité des techniques d’analyse technique à contribuer à la rentabilité des transactions fait l’objet de débats depuis plusieurs décennies. Alors que certaines études illustrent la grande efficacité et l’utilité de l’analyse technique sur les marchés émergents, d’autres montrent que dans les pays hautement développés dotés de marchés efficaces, ces outils n’affichent pas des performances aussi réussies et cohérentes. Ce document tente de fournir des preuves de la rentabilité des techniques d’analyse technique sur le marché boursier italien très efficace. Quatre règles d’analyse technique largement appliquées, telles que la moyenne mobile, le MACD, le RSI et l’oscillateur stochastique, ont été testées sur la base des cours de clôture quotidiens de 29 sociétés de l’indice de la Bourse de Milan (FTSE MIB), en comparaison avec une stratégie d’achat et de conservation et un investissement sans risque sur la période allant du 16 mai 2009 au 20 mai 2014.
