L’Encyclopédie des migrants est un projet artistique et scientifique européen qui réunit, dans une œuvre en 3 tomes, 400 témoignages, sous forme de lettres manuscrites adressées à un proche. Ces récits intimes de personnes migrantes nous parlent de ce que la distance produit chez l’individu.L’ouvrage actuel réunit les 16 textes scientifiques figurant dans L’Encyclopédie auxquels s’ajoutent 8 textes scientifiques écrits a posteriori qui prennent appui sur les 400 lettres des migrants, pour présenter des analyses sociologiques, sociolinguistiques, ethnographiques...Au-delà de l’œuvre artistique, l’éclairage pluridisciplinaire de ces 22 chercheurs témoigne de l’intérêt de L’Encyclopédie en tant qu’objet scientifique - tant dans son processus de création que comme objet d’étude a posteriori - nous invitant à porter un regard novateur sur la migration et à actualiser une réalité à facettes multiples.
