Leah does not see herself in a positive light physically,emotionally or intellectually. Rehearsing in her mind about all of the negative things that have happened in her life it seems impossible that this child would ever over-come this deep depression, but then there is Grampa Jim who encourages his granddaughter and helps her to see herself in a more positive light.
