Leaders Lost is a fresh and sobering first-hand non-fiction account of one man’s challenges when facedwith reprisal being forced upon him by his aviation squadron CO and further exacerbated by a negligentNavy, government IG, congressional office, and several other Shipmates who stood by while ithappened. The scene of the story takes place over the course of about eight years and documents hisjourney through the trials and tribulations of backstabbing, bureaucratic nonsense, and the twilight zoneof reasonably good people insisting upon knowing what the right thing is to do and then doing the exactopposite. Leaders Lost represents a play on words where the Leaders that became Lost for politicalreasons and not having a spine directly contributed to the decisions and conditions set into motionwhich led to some incredible Leaders actually being Lost in unnecessary and preventable aircraftMISHAPS. His vitriol towards detrimental status quo and those that support it refreshes the instincts toonce again question authority especially when it’s tough. At its heart however the story shows theimportance of believing in yourself, not giving up, and trusting in those that help and support you to getyou through the hard times.

But Steffens' dogged quest for truth and justice set...
