Au cours des deux guerres civiles, la production de l’industrie pétrolière libyenne, essentielle sur le plan économique, s’est effondrée à une petite fraction de son niveau habituel, la plupart des installations étant bloquées ou endommagées par des groupes rivaux, alors que le pays possède les plus grandes réserves de pétrole de tous les pays africains.
