Bien qu’il soit hasardeux de commencer par une notation subjective, je ne peux m’empêcher de penser au merveilleux choeur de paysans dans Ivan Soussanine de Glinka : une musique venue de l’âme et qui émeut l’âme. Certes, la littérature émane d’une élite naturelle, mais la musique va plus profond, elle plonge ses racines dans le peuple lui-même. Le folklore, qui inspire jusqu’au plus grand compositeur, révèle une réserve de force morale. Voilà pourquoi je suis sûr que le peuple russe jouera un rôle de premier plan dans la défense de la race blanche.
