Le LIVRE DE LA SAGESSE ÉTERNELLE est l’un des meilleurs écrits du bienheureux Henri Suso, prêtre de l’Ordre de Saint Dominique, qui vécut une vie de labeur et de souffrances merveilleuses, et mourut au XIVe siècle avec une réputation de sainteté que l’Église a solennellement confirmée. On ne saurait trop recommander ce traité et son auteur. Nous n’en connaissons aucun qui surpasse Henri Suso pour la solidité de son enseignement, la sublimité de sa pensée, la clarté de son expression et la beauté de ses illustrations.Ce petit livre composé de trente-trois chapitres, également publié sous le titre Horologium Sapientiae (Horloge de la Sagesse), fut l’un des textes de dévotion européens les plus populaires des XIVe et XVe siècles, aux côtés notamment de L’imitation de Jésus-Christ.
