Amelot n’a point appris au public ces pertes considérables, bien que, dans la Préface de L’Homme de cour, il prétende donner une liste complète de toutes les œuvres de son auteur. Il n’en compte que trois que nous n’ayons point, et qui sont Avisos al Varón Atento, Galante, Arte para bien morir, néanmoins il s’en trouve doutée dans la Préface de El Discreto qu’il cite, et dont il oublie ces paroles : muchos faltan, hasta doze. Il est vrai que Lastanosa ne nomme pas ces douze traités, mais il était pourtant de l’exactitude d’un traducteur zélé, et de la justice due à son auteur, que l’un fît connaître tous les soins et toutes les veilles de l’autre pour le service du public. 3
