Le Grand Meaulnes est l’unique roman d’Alain-Fournier, publié en 1913. Son auteur étant mort pour la France en 1914, ses héritiers ont bénéficié des prorogations de guerre et le roman n’est tombé dans le domaine public qu’en septembre 2009.Alain-Fournier situe l’action de son roman en Sologne, sa région natale. Il s’est inspiré du village d’Épineuil-le-Fleuriel à l’extrémité sud-est du Cher où l’on retrouve tous les lieux du cours supérieur de Sainte Agathe 1.Le pays perdu et le domaine des Sablonnières se trouveraient probablement entre le Vieux-Nançay et La Chapelle-d’Angillon, lieu de naissance d’Alain-Fournier, où, à la sortie nord du village, un hameau porte le nom des Sablonnières.Personnages principauxAugustin Meaulnes, 17 ans,François Seurel,Yvonne de Galais,M. de Galais, Frantz de Galais, Valentine Blondeau
