Gli artisti che sanno prestare attenzione al proprio corpo possono insegnarci molto sulla creatività e su come vivere in modo creativo. La loro attenzione allenata ai segnali somatici permette loro di usare il corpo come fonte di intelligenza profonda, non ancora formulata cognitivamente, e come sofisticato veicolo attraverso il quale questa intelligenza (la loro creatività) fluisce mentre viene formulata in espressioni creative personalizzate. Questi percorsi creativi verso la formulazione sono in continua evoluzione, sorprendendo persino gli artisti stessi, che colgono l’eleganza completa e la natura coerente delle loro creazioni solo a posteriori. Questa ricerca qualitativa esplora come le informazioni che fluiscono dal corpo alla mente attraverso processi di attenzione bottom-up possano guidare gli sforzi creativi. Analizzando le interviste approfondite di dieci artisti israeliani in grado di ascoltare le loro sensazioni somatiche e di riferirle in dettaglio, questo studio contribuisce con nuove intuizioni a quattro campi di conoscenza innovativi: psicologia somatica, ricerca sulla creatività, cognizione radicata e flusso.
