Currently, methods and tools for polarimetric diagnostics of the optically anisotropic structure of diffuse biological tissues are actively developing in biomedical optics, which includes a number of original directions: the study of scattering matrices; Mueller-matrix polarimetry; polar decomposition of Mueller matrices; two-dimensional Muller-matrix mapping in the framework of various model approximations. At the same time, the morphological, and accordingly the polycrystalline structure of samples of real biological tissues has a complex spatial-orientational organization. Therefore, the development of the new Mueller-matrix polarimetric diagnostics of polycrystalline networks of diffuse biological tissues in 3D format is relevant. Such a possibility can be provided by the synthesis of methods of Stokes polarimetry and digital holographic reproduction of the distributions of complex amplitudes of the object field of phase-inhomogeneous layers.
