Las Montero es una novela que te atrapará desde el primer capítulo, en la que dos hermanas son separadas bruscamente por un problema de sus padres. La falta de comunicación entre ellos, y los celos que nacen cuando una ex de su esposo llega al pueblo de San Miguel de Allende, Gto., donde empieza a desarrollarse la historia, hacen que Alma Rita quiera huir con sus hijas, pero una de ellas se esconde y solamente puede huir con Mónica, la mayor. Las dos se enfrentan solas a la vida en el extranjero, donde se marchan para no ser encontradas. Mónica, a pesar de su corta edad, desarrolla una fuerza interior que ni ella misma sabía que tenía. Viviendo en California, Arizona y Chicago, la vida le pone muchos retos muy difíciles de vencer, como los nervios desmedidos de su madre y esas horribles pesadillas que la atormentan cada noche, es víctima de bullying, la golpean para robarla, tiene un terrible accidente que la deja en coma por varios meses, etc. Pero ella logra vencer a base de esfuerzo todo lo que la vida le pone enfrente; Mónica tiene mucho que enseñarnos. Por su parte su hermana Viridiana sufre mucho su ausencia y el ver a su padre acabarse su fortuna en detectives tratando de encontrarlas.
