Lakm����� is an opera in three acts composed by Leo Delibes in 1890. The libretto was written by Edmond Gondinet and Philippe Gille. The story is set in British India and revolves around the love story between Lakm�����, a Hindu priestess, and G�����rald, a British officer. The opera features lush and exotic music, including the famous ''Flower Duet'' and ''Bell Song''. The themes of colonialism, cultural clash, and forbidden love are explored throughout the opera. The opera premiered at the Op�����ra-Comique in Paris in 1883 and has since become one of the most popular French operas.Translated And Adapted By Theodore T.
