Dr. Larid MacMasters was coming out of the jungle in Southwestern Brazil after completing a four-year project for NOAA. He was taking Holland America cruise ship back to the states. His crew were taking him up the river to catch a paddle wheeler up to the Amazon. The trip was long and boring in a small boat. He usually flew out the previous three years. But this time he want some comfort for his bones.In Manaus, he quickly made it onboard the Prinsendam as the gang plank was being stowed. The ship was quickly leaving the safety of the dock and entering the main channel of the Amazon. He found his room and had a fax that he was sure it was telling him his mother was dead. That night he did get the fax he dreaded. He was on the highest deck balling his eyes out when a woman appeared like in a dream. Beautiful in a white gown perfect all but for the bald head. It was the high of their sexual encounter to the lowest of the low her screwed drugged up psychic. He suffered with her and walked away from her when the drugs dehumanized her.
