En esta novela de historias cruzadas y llena de medias verdades vemos las consecuencias de sincerarse a destiempo o las de no sincerarse del modo adecuado. Aunque apreciamos la sinceridad como valor, a lo largo del tiempo descubrimos que somos esclavos de nuestras mentiras y que la liberación tiene su precio, a veces demasiado alto. Es a su vez una historia de reinvenciones, de la necesidad de volver a empezar, de ser aquello que uno siempre ha querido ser o de huir de aquello en lo que uno se ha convertido. Pero sobre todo es una historia sobre seres humanos y sobre lo difícil que puede resultar ser sincero con uno mismo sin defraudar a los demás.
