In questo libro, il problema del distacco ottimale del carico viene risolto utilizzando un algoritmo Firefly (FA), basato sull’intelligenza di sciame e di ispirazione biologica. Un paio di funzioni obiettivo standard relative al distacco ottimale del carico, ovvero il Nuovo Indice di Stabilità della Tensione (NVSI), che indica la posizione ottimale del bus per il distacco del carico, e la quantità di distacco del carico sono minimizzati utilizzando l’algoritmo Firefly proposto per ottenere i valori ottimali. La minimizzazione di questo indice migliora le prestazioni della linea di trasmissione, migliorando così la stabilità della tensione del sistema. Per l’implementazione viene utilizzato un sistema di prova standard IEEE a 30 bus. L’analisi delle prestazioni di questo problema di ottimizzazione utilizzando l’algoritmo della lucciola e il suo confronto con l’algoritmo standard Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) viene effettuata controllando varie combinazioni di valori dei parametri associati.
