Cette recherche explore l’art complexe des marionnettes au Bengale, en se concentrant sur son histoire substantielle, sa pertinence ethnique et les problèmes qui empêchent sa survie. Pratique coutumière de longue date, enracinée dans la culture populaire, la marionnette est depuis longtemps un instrument captivant de narration et de récréation au Bengale. Dans cette étude, nous examinerons la mondialisation, la prévalence des médias numériques et l’évolution d’une pratique culturelle dynamique dans l’art qui a été aliéné par les difficultés économiques rencontrées par les marionnettistes traditionnels. Basée sur des enquêtes de terrain, des entretiens et des analyses détaillées de la littérature, la recherche met l’accent sur les difficultés des marionnettistes, y compris les artisans tribaux et les femmes. Grâce à une analyse qualitative et quantitative, l’article examine la situation socio-économique des marionnettistes, l’adaptation innovante aux exigences modernes et l’influence des médias et de la technologie sur cette forme d’art. Il aborde les formes traditionnelles telles que le Chadar Badoni ainsi que les innovations modernes des organisations qui combinent les techniques traditionnelles et modernes pour faire revivre l’art de la marionnette.
