Depuis les années 1990, les rivalités et luttes hégémoniques entre le Cameroun et le Gabon ont pris en otage le processus d’intégration régionale. Les divergences et incompréhensions au sein du couple Omar Bongo-Paul Biya ont non seulement fragilisé la pertinence de leur leadership, mais surtout entravé la construction des projets intégrateurs. Dans ce contexte historique, l’objet de cet ouvrage est d’analyser les mécanismes par lesquels le couple camerouno-gabonais est parvenu à transcender les luttes de leadership et à redynamiser la construction communautaire. En adoptant une approche constructiviste, il examine les dynamiques intersubjectives qui sous-tendent le dépassement des luttes hégémoniques. Il examine également la (re)construction de l’intégration sous régionale comme étant le produit de la redynamisation et du (re)positionnement du couple Cameroun-Gabon en tant que dyade-pivot , c’est-à-dire, un duopole de convergence, d’impulsion, de coordination et d’organisation de la construction communautaire.
