La rebelión de las minorías trata de analizar, siguiendo la modalidad del ensayismo histórico-filosófico, un fenómeno político y cultural de patente actualidad como es el creciente poder decisivo que en muchos aspectos están teniendo las minorías culturales. El titulo parodia, en cierto sentido, el famoso ensayo de Ortega y Gasset titulado La rebelión de las masas. Sin embargo, la tesis que se sostiene es que lo nuevo que está emergiendo hoy en el escenario social y mediático no es ya la rebelión de las masas, que tan acertadamente Ortega diagnostico para el siglo XX, sino que ahora, en el siglo XXI, el fenómeno socio-mediático en ascenso es otra rebelión, pero esta vez no tanto la de las masas sino la de las minorías.
