La quiebra del Sistema Nacional de Salud es un escenario probable, ante un complejo futuro en el que coinciden el volumen de pacientes pendientes de ser atendidos tras la pandemia, el impacto derivado del envejecimiento de la población y la cronicidad, el incremento del coste de las tecnologías y medicamentos avanzados, así como las exigencias relacionadas con la Transición Econlógica y el cambio climático. A ello se añade la sensación de fatiga del modelo, que ya venían anunciando diferentes expertos, antes incluso del comienzo de la pandemia.El autor propone una serie de medidas encadenadas, siendo la primera el fortalecimiento de la gobernanza del sistema sanitario español, incluyendo la creación de una Agencia Nacional de Salud Pública y una Agencia de Evaluación del SNS. Se trata, por tanto, de una obra oportuna y necesaria, en la que se señala la necesidad de aplicar reformas de calado, manteniendo las esencias que han dado cuerpo al Sistema Nacional de Salud español. 10
