La participation politique des femmes est un phénomène bien connu dans le domaine de l’émancipation des femmes. En manque de développement politique, le Pakistan est confronté à l’inégalité des sexes et à une faible participation des femmes à la vie politique depuis le tout début. Le développement politique est difficile à réaliser sans la moitié de la population. Lahore est la deuxième ville du pays avec un taux d’alphabétisation élevé. L’engagement des femmes dans les activités socio-économiques et socio-politiques est analysé à travers les théories sociologiques, socio-psychologiques et rationnelles. L’auteur examine la participation politique des femmes au Pakistan et met en évidence les obstacles socio-économiques et socioculturels, avant de conclure que le développement socio-économique mène au développement politique.
