La route Corniche El Mazraa, l’une des principales artères de Beyrouth - la capitale du Liban - est caractérisée par de graves embouteillages qui s’étendent sur des périodes de pointe prolongées au cours de la journée. Cette situation met en péril le système de transport et risque d’entraver la fonctionnalité de la ville, sans compter les pertes économiques et environnementales. Les auteurs ont examiné un certain nombre de mesures d’atténuation pour améliorer les conditions de circulation le long de la Corniche El Mazraa Road. La seule solution qui pourrait entraîner des améliorations tangibles des conditions de circulation dans un environnement urbain aussi dense est l’introduction d’un système de transport public fiable.
