El deporte del patinaje de Velocidad sobre ruedas, como disciplina física de competencia, ha logrado incorporarse en la vida cotidiana de cientos de personas en todo el mundo, despertando y desarrollando grandes habilidades motrices, pero también cognitivas como lo plantea Heinz (1999). Por tal razón, esta investigación determinó la motivación deportiva de los patinadores de la selección Meta de los Juegos Nacionales de Colombia del año 2015, pre y post Competencia. Reconociendo que es sumamente importante, resaltar la motivación deportiva para los patinadores colombianos siendo ésta, un elemento fundamental y el pilar base del cuerpo técnico del equipo nacional de Colombia que ha logrado más de 350 títulos del mundo en los últimos 20 años, con lo que hoy por hoy es reconocida como la mejor selección de Patinaje del Mundo.
