Con anécdotas etnográficas y excelentes entrevistas, ilustra la manera en la que grupos de desconocidos se conocen y se cuidan en la ruta. Su análisis revela la solidaridad generalizada que la “comunidad migrante” forma cuando cruza el país, al compartirse información y recursos. También enseña cómo cambian las dinámicas de las familias que migraron juntas desde Centroamérica.La autora se centra en la vida social de las personas en tránsito. Al describir sus rutinas, sus estrategias, la forma en la que se relacionan, cooperan y reaccionan a la ruta, muestra que la vida sigue desarrollándose cuando la gente está en movilidad.Esta investigación contribuye a los debates sobre el papel de las redes sociales y de los lazos de solidaridad y confianza en la migración indocumentada, y devela la manera en la que éstos se forman y evolucionan en situaciones inestables, violentas y estresantes.
