Ce document propose une analyse du thème de la religion, en examinant les droits et garanties fondamentaux énoncés dans la Constitution de la République fédérative du Brésil, promulguée en 1988. Il procède à une analyse critique des droits inhérents à l’activité religieuse et des devoirs qui découlent de cette manifestation, tout en abordant la question du principe de laïcité dans le texte constitutionnel et en soulevant le problème de l’enseignement religieux dans les écoles publiques, en gardant toujours à l’esprit la possibilité d’harmoniser les libertés constitutionnelles et la cohésion de la société, sur la base des principes démocratiques et de l’appréciation sociale et humaine.
