Bien que les principaux auteurs étudiés dans ce texte soient issus de la même tribu du Nigeria, des références ont été faites, le cas échéant, à d’autres écrivains africains et non africains. Cet ouvrage utilise l’approche sociologique pour analyser les romans car les romanciers ont centré leurs œuvres sur des faits contemporains de la société nigériane.
