Este libro es el resultado de una investigación sobre el proceso de enseñanza de la música en Holguín, cuidad de la zona nororiental de Cuba. En este ejemplar el lector podrá conocer el devenir histórico y cultural de la música holguinera, desde la época colonial hasta las dos primeras décadas del siglo XXI. En este recorrido se hace referencia a las principales academias, familias ilustres, grandes maestros de la música, así como las relaciones culturales con otras manifestaciones de las artes. Se significa la apertura de las escuelas especializadas de arte tanto en Cuba como en el territorio holguinero como política de la educación y la cultura a partir de la Revolución, y se recoge una significativa relación de los principales maestros de las diferentes líneas formativas de la música.Este libro constituye un humilde reconocimiento y tributo a los docentes y maestros de la enseñanza de la música, así como la contribución que ha realizado esta provincia al enriquecimiento del patrimonio musical de este territorio y de Cuba.
