Cet ouvrage vise à démontrer, contre tous les préjugés qui persistent encore aujourd’hui, que Mihai Eminescu n’était pas seulement un génie de la poésie, mais aussi un grand penseur, doté d’un esprit encyclopédique et d’une vocation philosophique particulière. Il entend également prouver que cette vocation philosophique s’est avérée féconde non seulement dans les domaines de l’ontologie, de la gnosiologie et de l’esthétique, mais aussi dans ceux de la philosophie politique, morale et du droit. Il est vrai que ce brillant poète-penseur n’a pas rédigé de traités systématiques révélant une conception globale, comme le croient certains épigones. En revanche, ses réflexions, qu’elles soient restées à l’état de manuscrits ou rassemblées dans ses œuvres publiées, valent, dans la plupart des cas, bien plus que tous les traités de certains chercheurs de formation, qui se sont révélés incapables d’analyser la réalité en profondeur.
