La intención por problematizar el conflicto que subyace en la práctica del Peritaje Social, nace a partir de la incorporación de la figura del Trabajador Social, en el rol de perito dentro del ámbito judicial. Lo mencionado -según nuestra hipótesis- ha desembocado en una problemática, que podría denominarse conflicto de interpretaciones, conflicto no abordado en la 'problematización del tema a nivel nacional'. El reseñado conflicto tiene su génesis en el momento en que el Perito Social se encuentra cara a cara con los sujetos que son objeto de la investigación pericial; recabando información que a la postre debe ser interpretada y vertida en un informe que se presenta en distintas instancias judiciales con rango de objetivo. La especificad de los informes periciales-sociales radica en que, a diferencia de los informes sociales tradicionales, además de describir, deben interpretar una realidad contingente y determinada desde una óptica de imparcialidad que cuenta con un escollo determinante al momento de dilucidar una realidad particular, esto es, un distanciamiento, la no presencia en los sucesos, de ahí la importancia de la expertiz por parte de los Peritos Sociales.
