Diese Studie beschreibt ein vergessenes Genre des musikalischen Erbes der Insel Margarita, Bundesstaat Nueva Esparta, Venezuela, bekannt als das 'Lololó-Lied', das auf indigene Wurzeln zurückgeht und mit spanischen und afrikanischen Traditionen verbunden ist; ein traditionelles Bauernlied, das während des Transports der Maisernte von den Hügeln zum Haus des glücklichen Margarita-Bauern gesungen wurde, insbesondere in den Städten El Valle del Espíritu Santo, San Juan Bautista, Tacarigua, San Antonio und El Maco. Es handelt sich um eine qualitative und ethnografische Studie, die auf der Grundlage unstrukturierter Interviews mit den Verantwortlichen für das lebendige kulturelle Erbe auf regionaler und kommunaler Ebene sowie für die Volkskultur durchgeführt wurde. Die Insel Margarita ist die Region Venezuelas mit 18 identifizierten und verbreiteten Musikgenres und damit die produktivste Region mit einem enormen kulturellen Reichtum.
