Konzepte für flexibel automatisierte Montagesysteme können systematisiert und in modular aufgebaute Strukturen gefaßt werden. In dieser Publikation werden am Beispiel eines Produktspektrums aus der Elektromechanik und Feinwerktechnik hierzu Montagesysteme analysiert und die grundsätzlichen Zusammenhänge in der Montage hergeleitet. Das Ergebnis ist eine parametrisierte Beschreibungssystematik für Montagesysteme und Komponenten. Auf dieser Systematik lassen sich flexible Montagesysteme durch Parametervariation in allen strukturellen Ebenen aufbauen. Hieraus kann ein modulares Baukastensystem für die Montage der betrachteten Produkte entwickelt und verifiziert werden. Um die Planung derartig flexibler Systeme zu unterstützen, wird die Beschreibungssytematik in zwei Rechenprogramme eingebunden. Mit diesen Programmen sind Aussagen über Rationalisierungsschwerpunkte, den zielgerichteten Einsatz einer flexiblen Montagestruktur und deren Nutzen möglich.
