W ramach niniejszego badania przeanalizowano konstruktywizm w zastosowaniu w programie Chromebook 1:1 z wykorzystaniem aplikacji Google w klasach szkoły podstawowej i średniej w górnej części środkowego zachodu Stanów Zjednoczonych. Uczniowie otrzymali Chromebooki i konta Google. Nauczyciele zostali przeszkoleni w zakresie korzystania z aplikacji Google i zachęceni do wykorzystywania dostępnych funkcji współpracy. Badanie trwało przez semestr wiosenny 2014 r., podczas wdrażania programu. Dane zebrano poprzez wywiady z nauczycielami, administratorami i rodzicami zaangażowanymi w program. Wyniki wskazały, że nauka uczniów jest bardziej efektywna, gdy otrzymują oni narzędzia umożliwiające inicjowanie działań edukacyjnych z rówieśnikami, a także uczestnictwo w działaniach tworzonych przez nauczycieli. Nauczyciele muszą zapewnić działania zachęcające uczniów do interakcji z innymi. Osiągnięcia uczniów można poprawić poprzez współpracę online.
