Chapter 1. 1945, New Guinea. Lead character Rick Richards is part of a flight of 4 RAAF Kittyhawk fighters attacking a Japanese airfield at Borpop, New Ireland province. He is brought down, crashing into the jungle, losing consciousness.Chapter 2-4 Starts in 1927, when 5-year-old Rick is growing up on a farm at Molong, Central West NSW, during the depression years.Chapter 5. It is 1942 and the Japanese enter WW2. Rick volunteers to join the RAAF.Chapter 6 and 7. Training in the RAAFChapter 8. Rick and his squadron join the fight against the Japanese in New Guinea, Chapter 9. Resumes where chapter 1 left off. Rick is rescued by Jack, an old plantation owner also dodging the Japanese, and a native girl.Chapter 10. Rick and Jack escape Borpop in a leaky boat. This chapter included an epic tale of near death for both. Expecting to die, Jack tells Rick of a bag of gold he has buried back at Borpop.Chapter 11. Jack dies soon after rescue, but Rick returns home to the farm.Chapter 12. Life is great for a year, until Rick’s father dies from snake bite.Chapter 13 Rick discovers that a crooked lawyer and scheming step-mother have conspired to cheat him of his birthright. He leaves the farm, and finds a job. Eventually who starts an aerial crop-dusting business.Chapter 14. He visits Max, his best chum from his youth, to find Max’s little sister Ellie has grown from a skinny kid into a stunning woman. He is smitten.Chapter 15. romance blossoms, and the business grows.Chapter 16. Marriage, children, and the business is very successful.Chapter 17. Rick tells Col, friend and employee, about Jack’s gold. he is persuaded to return to Borpop. They do find the gold.Chapter 18. Col launches Borpop Gold, raising funds from investors. Rick is sceptical. Chapter 19. Rick’s doubts grow and he warns investors. They ignore him, but blame him when Borpop Gold fails.Chapter 20 and 21. Ellie’s father dies. At the funeral, a chance encounter reveals evidence that Rick was cheated of the farm. He confronts his step-mother and the lawyer, and recovers his birthright.
