The Bible challenges us in Romans 12:2 to not be conformed to this world but to be transformed by renewing our minds. Our natural human tendencies are strongly bent toward selfishness. It permeates our being and aggressively reveals itself in our interactions. Our culture seems to be pushing further and further toward the trend of selfishness.
