Aufgrund der Bedeutung der Karieskontrolle bei HIV-infizierten Kindern und der möglichen Mitwirkung von Candida am Kariesprozess schlägt die vorliegende Studie die Analyse der Besiedlung mit Candida spp. im supragingivalen Biofilm von HIV-infizierten Kindern sowie die In-vitro-Analyse des Demineralisierungspotenzials dieser Hefen im Zahnschmelz vor.
