Verfahren zur Bestimmung kostenoptimaler LosgroBen bllden selt mlttlerweile mehr als 70 Jahren ein interessantes Forschungsgebiet der Betriebswirtschaftslehre. Die stlindigen BemOhungen der Wissenschaft, diese Modelle immer mehr an die Anforderungen der betrieblichen Praxis anzupassen, fUhrte zu einer heute kaum noch iiberschaubaren Zahl an Heuristiken. Parallel dazu eroffneten sich ab Mltte der 70er Jahre auch kleinen und mittleren Unterneh­ men aufgrund der stiirmlschen Entwicklung im gesamten EDV-Bereich In zunehmenden MaBe die MOglichkelt einer computergestiitzten Produktionsplanung und -steuerung. Ergebnisse eines vom Betriebswirtschaftlichen Forschungszentrum fUr Fragen der mlttel­ standischen Wirtschaft (BF 1M-Bayreuth) durchgefiihrten Forschungsprojekt zum Thema 'Computergestiitzte Produktionsplanung und -steuerung im Mlttelstand' belegen aber, daB gerade die mlttelstandische Industrie hinslchtlich des Einsatzes lelstungsfcihiger Heuristi­ ken zur LosgroBenpianung erhebliche Planungsdefizlte aufweist. Vor diesem Hintergrund leltet Dr. Ronald Hechtfischer die zwei wesentlichen Zielsetzungen seiner Arbeit ab: Zum einen soil ein Oberblick iiber neuere Entwicklungen insbesondere auf dem Gebiet der Bestimmung wirtschaftlicher LosgroBen bei Voriiegen von Kapazitiits­ beschrankungen gegeben werden. Zum anderen wird ein neues computergestiitztes Naherungsverfahren zur LosgroBenplanung bei Montagestrukturen und Voriiegen eines Kapazitiitsengpasses vorgestellt.
