This study examined Jurgen Moltmann Theology of Hope and its Implications for Human suffering in contemporary Africa. Moltmann, a professor of systematic theology at University of Turbingen, Germany is known as one of the leading proponents of the theology of hope. The central argument is that authentic human life and restoration of human hope can only be achieved through Christ when facing with existential challenges of life. So the exodus of Israelites has been presented as a foundation for hope of human kinds. Therefore, the specific objectives of the study were to evaluate the role of suffering in Christian faith; Investigate theology of Jurgen Moltmann’s as a response to human suffering, explore Moltmann’s doctrine of God and Christology in presenting hope to Africa in the time of suffering, discuss the relevance of hope as an indispensable factor in African Christian world view.
