'This comic is an engaging and important educational tool that shines a much-needed light on the incredible journey of service dogs. It captures the dedication, love, and powerful teamwork required to give veterans a new lease on life. A vital and ’pawsitive’ resource for anyone unfamiliar with the deep bonds that allow our veterans to thrive post-service.' -Paul Krueger, Navy Combat Veteran, VFW Post 7041 Commander 'Here we have ’man’s best friend’, through no fault of their own, find themselves peering through the bars of an animal shelter...a veteran...caught in PTSD, TBI, MST, and other service-connected disabilities. Pairing the two makes for a win-win situation. These shelter dogs are especially trained to handle the discomfort that has been thrust upon the veteran. The veteran selflessly served their country amongst many dangers. Man’s best friend now selflessly serves their veteran, helping them see...that all is not lost. That hope still abounds!! -Victor L., Marine Veteran 'Superheroes indeed! This story will help veterans like Izzie, family members, and non-veterans transition from trauma and coping attempts to living life with a service dog as a partner. The book is well written and professionally illustrated for younger readers, yet it is a must-read...This book should be in every library and in all clinics where PTS, TBI, and MST are treated.' -Gary Garretson, Navy Vietnam Veteran, President of Veterans’ Writing Group
