I never imagined that my brother, John, would disappear without a trace. Growing up, he was always the brave one, the one who challenged the rules, the one who had the courage to face anything life threw at him. So when I received the news that John had gone missing, I couldn’t understand it. It didn’t make sense. John was always in control, always aware of what was going on. He wouldn’t have just disappeared, not without leaving a trace, not without a reason. I decided to take matters into my own hands and investigate his disappearance. I knew the village well, its secrets, its people, and its history. But the deeper I dug, the more unsettling truths began to surface. I uncovered whispers of old pacts, hidden sacrifices, and an unspoken agreement that the elders had kept buried for generations. I began to realize that John’s disappearance was not an accident-it was the result of something much darker, something tied to the very foundation of our village. I had always been close to John, but as I ventured further into his investigation, I found myself questioning everything I had ever known. I spoke with people who had once been friends of my brother, but they too seemed frightened of speaking too freely. Each piece of information I gathered only led to more questions, and soon, I began to fear that the truth might be more dangerous than I was prepared for.
