Dabei ist dem fleißigen Bauern aus Südrussland viel, sehr viel gelungen. Er hinterließ eine blühende Landschaft, wo vor ihm nur Steppengras im Wind verweht wurde. Sein Werk kann mit vollem Recht als Beispiel gesellschaftlicher und geistlicher Transformation gelten. Mit dieser Biographie schließt der bekannte Missionshistoriker Prof. Dr. Johannes Reimer eine wichtige Lücke. Das Buch ist populär-wissenschaftlich geschrieben und sollte weite Kreise interessierter Leser ansprechen. Dr. Johannes Reimer ist Professor für Missionswissenschaften an der Theologischen Hochschule Ewersbach und der University of South Africa. Aus seiner Feder stammen mehrere Bücher und Artikel zur Geschichte der deutschen Täufer in Russland und der Sowietunion.
