The story is about a little donkey named Jasper who has unusual blue eyes and comes from a long line of donkeys that were bred for the purpose of carrying kings. They also carried wood for the fires on which sacrifices were laid and for this purpose they had a special distinguishing mark on their backs; a cross. These donkeys were called crosstree donkeys. Jasper was a crosstree donkey so it was only fitting that he should carry Jesus the King of Kings and also the supreme sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. Jasper was also special in that he could understand what people said and their feelings. Jaspers’ ancestors belonged to the lineage of King David and his son Solomon. Jasper was born to a female donkey that belonged to Joseph, a descendant of King David. 3

We’ve been duped into removing prayer from the center of our churches and have placed it on the periphery or semi-periphery.  What we’re witnessing today in our churches, and in society at large, is that legacy of prayerlessness.  Church leadership may be hesitant and embarrassed to admit it, but there is a direct correlation between our spiritual weakness and our lack of corpo...

If God is good, why do we get sick? When God created the world, He declared: "It is good." But then came the Fall, and with it sickness and death. In this heart-tugging monograph, Dr. Davis McGuirt draws from both his training in theology and the personal agony of watching his father die from cancer to provide a variety of biblical reasons for why we get sick. We are also remin...
