Die vorliegende Studie beruht auf Forschungen der drei Mitarbeiter des Pro­ jektes 'Japans Wandel von der Agrar- zur Industriegesellschaft - Analyse des sozio-okonomischen und sozio-religiosen Hintergrundes in einem abge­ grenzten Gebiet Japans wahrend der Formativperiode des modernen japani­ schen Industriestaates', das vom Ministerium fUr Wissenschaft und For­ schung des Landes Nordrhein-westfalen in den Jahren 1979, 1980 und 1981 gefordert wurde. unter der Leitung von Josef Kreiner arbeiteten Priv. Doz. Dr. Erich Pauer vom Japanologischen Seminar der Rheinischen Friedrich­ Wilhelms-Universitat Bonn, sowie Dr. Regine Mathias-Pauer vom Seminar fur Orientalische Sprachen, Japanische Abteilung, derselben Universitat an die­ sem Vorhaben, das in seiner ursprUnglichen Fassung drei Problemkreise umfas­ sen sollte: 1. 'Grundherrschafts- und Pachtsystem im Zusammenhang mit der traditionellen Eisenindustrie und deren EinfluB auf die Industrialisierung und Modernisierung der landlichen Industrie', bearbeitet von E. Pauer (vergl. Kap. 3. 2. und 3. 3oi dazu als Zwischenbericht: 'Die traditionelle EisE industrie Japans in der Meiji-Zeit', in: Bonner Zeitschrift fur Japanologie 1:309-326, Bonn 1979); 2. 'Grundlagen der sozio-okonomischen und sozio-reli­ giosen Struktur im Nordwest-Teil von Shikoku unter Einbeziehung von Kult­ Organisation und Glaubensinhalt von regionalen Shinto-Schreinen', bearbei­ tet von J. Kreiner; 3. 'Agrarverfassung und Mobilitat von landlichen Arbeits­ kraften in Hiroshima in der Zwischenkriegszeit - Analyse der Krisenfaktoren in der Landwirtschaft wahrend der Industrialisierungsperiode Japans', bear­ beitet von R.
