Jimmy, an introspective and well-traveled social studies teacher, lives a quiet life teaching at a Minnesota high school. Having spent several decades in Japan-a country he considers his second home-he is caught off guard when an ancient and unfinished legacy follows him back across the Pacific. As the sun sets, strange events begin to unfold in Jimmy’s home: first, a disembodied hand appears in the moonlight, followed by the full apparition of a Japanese woman dressed in a traditional kimono. Though separated by the boundaries of time and space, life and death, Jimmy and the mysterious woman discover a powerful karmic connection. Together, they search for the source of her eternal restlessness in hopes of finding redemption and peace. As Jimmy unravels the secrets of her past, he begins to understand how their destinies are intertwined-and how, across centuries and worlds, they may ultimately heal one another.Blending Japanese history and culture with mystery, the supernatural, and an unexpected emotional journey, Japanese Ghost in America explores what happens when the past reaches across time to demand answers, and perhaps one final chance at redemption.

In Muslim Heroes on Screen, Daniel O’Brien explores the depiction of these characters in Euro-American cinema from the sil...
