Paul Leicester Ford was a 19th American novelist and biographer. He is best known for his biographies of George Washington and Benjamin Franklin. Janice Meredith is an historical romance about the lovely daughter of a colonial Tory squire who falls in love with an indentured servant destined to become a general in the Revolutionary Army. The novel is full of historical color and romance.
