What do you think when you hear the term ’Pit Bull’? Some think of a cold-blooded killer dog who shouldn’t be considered family, while others think of a misunderstood soul who just wants to be loved. But for Jack, the term goes deeper. It’s an insult to how he looks, its a set of rules on how he should behave. For him, the term ’Pit Bull’ is a reason to be treated like a monster. But Jack tries his hardest to show everyone that he is no monster. That just because he is judged, abused, and forced to fight for his life, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t know how to love, how to be a loyal companion to a struggling family, or how to forgive and forget about the horrible pain from his past, or even how to love and trust again. But what Jack doesn’t know and will hopefully come to understand is that no matter how hard you try to be perfect in this life, it will always be a dog eat dog world.

Paul Keller is the Stephen Dedalus of the piece, the son of Robert and Sylvie, whose internal monologue is spliced into the action, and whose incestuous feelings for his sister lead to an increase in his...
