Stories inspired by songs by George Gershwin, Elton John, Paul Simon, Paul McCartney and others, from early 20th century to space travel.Growing up in Venezuela before digital music and streaming, Leo Jahn was glued to the radio waiting for his favourite songs. His teenage brain created images of what he thought Santana, Donna Summer and The Eagles looked like. Not understanding at first because of the language barrier, the songs nevertheless became ingrained in Leo’s brain. As his musical tastes expanded, one thing remained constant, his love for those songs listened to on the radio. Here are ten stories inspired by those songs. Some relate to personal experiences while others provide back stories to the characters in the songs. The result? You have in your hands a unique and moving collection of surprising short stories.Leo Jahn was born in Caracas, Venezuela. In 2007, seeking a new beginning amidst political and economic uncertainty, he and his family moved to Melbourne, Australia, where they built a new life. Though he had written stories and a novel in Spanish, Leo embraced English as his creative language upon arriving in Melbourne.Since joining a writing workshop in 2013, he has written numerous short stories and is completing a novel. He continues to meet with the group, refining his work and sharing his passion for storytelling.
