Terry McRoberts, age fifteen and a high school sophomore had problems.No. one. He hoped, after high school and college, to play pro basketball. And, for his size he was a very good player.No. two. He had a handicap. He was about the same size as his sister, Karen, who was five foot, in high heels, and not too interested in playing pro basketball.No. three. If Terry couldn't play pro ball he wanted to join a rock 'n' roll group. And as everyone knew, to be a rock 'n' roller he needed long hair. And this was something of a problem, too. Terry's Dad was a barber. The only barber in town. But for some reason Sam McRoberts didn't seemed too concerned about Terry's hair. Actually it was his mother, Mrs. McRoberts, who was most annoyed about Terry's hair. Actually Sam McRoberts was not too concerned that Terry's hair had gotten so long. He said Terry was going through a phase and sooner or later would decide that long hair wasn't such a great idea after all.But it wasn't until a Tuesday evening in early February that Terry commenced to realize that maybe long hair wasn't such a good idea either. The occasion was a basketball game on MacGregors Junction home court against Bear Creek.Terry got into foul trouble early and had to sit out most of the game. There were only a few second left on the clock when he finally got into the game. And with time running out Terry made an unbelievable shot from midcourt winning the game for macGregors Junction. And suddenly from being a goat Terry was the hero. But Terry's troubles were still not over. Mrs. McRoberts who was a skilled seamstress , was making costumes for Karen and her best friend for a fashion show. Unfortunately a few days before the show the friend caught the flu and missed the show. But since Karen and Terry looked so much alike, Terry was somehow persuaded to fill in for Karen's friend. But it wasn't until they got to the auditorium that Terry learned that he and Karen were to be Siamese twins.
