This book is a lyrical journey through the passages of my life and the spirit of love. It’s a tribute to the people and events encountered along this passageway. They come into our lives either by a divine will or mere fleeting coincidence -- they all make a difference. One can read about the innocence of childhood and the optimistic spirit evoked in ’A Day in June’ and ’Cycles’ as seen through my eyes as a child when life seemed simplistic and structured. And then there’s a young girl’s ’Passion’ and ’Souvenir; the heartfelt loss and sorrow when ’My Pop’ died. My faith in God is comforting. There are inspiring poems and poignant love letters written by a true love who was wise beyond his years and should never be forgotten. Through these words, we feel passion and devotion, coupled with my grief and pain in the aftermath of war. We get a sense of love eternal. ’My Quest’ is a metaphorical search of perfection fulfilled with joy of motherhood. This journey of words is an appreciation of the beauty around us, inspired by the magnificence of God, and family members, whose heartfelt lyrics and talents are blessings along this passageway. We remember friends from other times and places who have left an indelible mark on our lives with their wit and wisdom. Some people along the way have piqued our minds with curiosity and wonder. Sadly, wars still rage. Morality is questionable. We need to recapture the inherent beauty of life, the magnificence of a Spiritual Being, and appreciate one another -- no matter what race, religion or nationality. We’re all integral beings in life’s journey. Today -- this is my quest .and what I write about for all humanity to share. 'It is Love'.

‘There’s a touch of both Dickinson and Larkin in Jennifer Chrystie’s mature exhumation of the tales and tropes of family. The collection arcs from, at one extreme, the parsimonies of the household, to the transce...

    Edward V Bonner
The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....

  • The Truth about A

In his interpretation of Antigone, Seamus Heaney says, ‘Nobody can be sure they are always right.’ Maureen O’Shaughnessy’s The Truth about A further attends to this idea through various readings of the myth as portrayed by Sophocles, Brecht, Ted Hughes, Anne Carson and, most particularly, Euripides.
