''Israel in Egypt'' is a sacred oratorio composed by George Frideric Handel in 1739. The piece is divided into three parts and tells the story of the Israelites’ escape from Egypt as told in the biblical book of Exodus. The oratorio features a variety of choral and solo pieces, including recitatives, arias, and choruses. The music is characterized by its grandeur and dramatic intensity, with Handel using a range of musical techniques to evoke the emotions and events of the story. ''Israel in Egypt'' is considered one of Handel’s greatest works and remains a popular piece in the choral repertoire. This edition of the oratorio was published in 1900.This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world’s literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
